Ingredients

Everything Bagel Seasoning (This makes a lot, but you'll want it for "Everything"!)

  • ¼ cup poppy seeds
  • 2 tablespoon white sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoon black sesame seeds (use more white seeds if you can't find black)
  • 3 tablespoon minced dried garlic
  • 3 tablespoon minced dried onion
  • 2 tablespoon flaky sea salt

Bacon

  • 1 lb thick cut bacon
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

Making the Everything Bagel Seasoning

  • Mix "everything seasoning" ingredients in a bowl. Done. Good job!

Makin' Bacon

  • Preheat oven to 400° Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper that you have sprayed with nonstick spray. This will be the landing spot for your finished bacon. It'll be sticky, so don't forget to spray the paper.
  • Line another large sheet pan with aluminum foil. Place a wire baking rack in the sheet pan and spray that with nonstick spray as well.
  • Lay the bacon in a single layer on the rack. It's okay if they touch right now, as the stickiness comes later. Brush lightly with maple syrup.
  • Bake at 400° for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and flip the bacon. The bacon has shrunk a bit, so you can now move the bacon around so the strips aren't touching.
  • Brush the second side of each slice with a light coating of maple syrup, and sprinkle the bacon well with your everything seasoning.
  • Place the bacon back into oven for another 10 to 15 minutes or until nicely browned. Don't over bake, because both the syrup and the seasoning are prone to burning if not watched carefully at the end. Check in at 10 minutes to be on the safe side.
  • Remove bacon from oven place on the parchment paper that you prepared. Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftover bacon in a single layer in an airtight container for up to 3 days. If you need to stack them, layer with parchment paper or foil that has been sprayed with nonstick spray.
Can reheat in 350°F oven for 5 minutes. Place on foil or parchment paper that has been sprayed with nonstick spray. Let cool before serving.
