- 1 ½ to 2 cups fruit frozen, fresh, or a combination
- 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt or other thick yogurt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon honey add 2 tablespoons if using unsweetened yogurt
- 1 tablespoon fruit jam or preserves (optional)
Add milk and yogurt to your blender.
Add honey or other sweetener of your choice. This is where you could add a ripe banana if you wanted it for thickness and sweetness.
Add jam, if using.
Add your choice of fruit. For a thicker smoothie, use frozen fruit or a combination of fresh and frozen.
Blend on low for about 10 seconds to get things started, them increase to high, or the smoothie setting, for about 30 seconds. Use a long handled spoon or other utensil to get to the bottom and stir, cover again and then blend for another 30 seconds.
Pour into the cutest glass you have. Garnish with more fresh fruit and/or a dollop of yogurt. Pop in a straw and enjoy!
Meal prep: Gather all your favorite fruits together—except for the yogurt and milk—freeze on a tray, and then transfer them to a zip top bag. Label the bag and pop it into the freezer for up to 9 months. When you want to make a delicious smoothie, dump the ingredients straight into the blender, add the milk, yogurt, and sweetenr (no need for ice) and blend into a delicious smoothie.
Make ahead: Smoothies are best consumed immediately after blending, but you can make it the night before and store in a resealable jar or mason jar. They can separate a bit so, in the morning you can grab one and give it a vigorous shake and then sip and enjoy!
Freeze smoothies: Make these in advance and store for up to a month in the freezer. Blend and transfer to lidded jars. Make sure to leave room at the top for expansion. Place in the freezer. If you want a smoothie in the morning, place a jar in the refrigerator to thaw and give it a good shake or a quick blender buzz in the morning.
