Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk dairy or alternative
  • 1 cup yogurt Greek or regular or plant based alternative
  • ¼ cup honey or other sweetener
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 2 bananas very ripe
  • 1 avocado ripe

Instructions

  • Pour milk into the blender jug. Add yogurt, ice, banana, avocado, and honey.
  • Place lid onto the blender and blend on high, or the smoothie setting, for about 30 seconds.
  • Use a long handled utensil to scrape the bottom of the blender. Stir, cover, and blend another 30 seconds.
  • Taste for sweetness and check for desired consistency. If it tastes at all chalky or needs more sweetness, add a couple more tablespoons of honey. If you want it thinner, add a bit more milk, thicker, more yogurt. Blend again and serve.

Notes

Note: I don't recommend making an avocado banana smoothie ahead of time because both avocados and bananas turn gray with oxidation. By the time you drink your smoothie it may have a metallic taste. Blend and sip is my recommendation.
