Can make the batter the night before

Fill or don't fill - it's all delicious!

Ingredients

Zeppole water milk yeast sugar flour salt olive oil powdered sugar Lemon Curd egg yolks sugar lemon salt butter

It all starts with a simple stovetop lemon curd that you can make days ahead. Don't like lemon? Fill these zeppole with nutella or eat them without a filling.  It's all delicious!

Next you'll make your zeppole dough. Because this is a yeast dough, it needs to rise for at least an hour. Good news! You can make this the night before and let it rise in the fridge overnight!

Heat a pot of vegetable oil and scoop your dough directly into the hot oil

Fry for about 3 minutes, then give them a flip. Fry 3 minutes on the other side

Cool on a wire rack

Use a piping tip to get the delicious lemon curd into your zeppole. If you are using Nutella, or another jam, do the same thing

Shower generously with powdered sugar!

Delizioso!
