Buttermilk Biscuits, with tons of flaky layers, are so much easier than you thought!
Start your Buttermilk Biscuits by whisking together flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt
Use your fingers, or a pastry cutter, to blend the flour and butter together
Pour in cold buttermilk and mix until you get a loose, shaggy dough.
Gather the dough into a large square on the counter
Use a knife or bench scraper to cut the dough into four pieces
Stack the squares on top of each other and press back down. Repeat the cut and stack 2 more times
Cut out your biscuits by pressing straight down and pulling straight back up
Place biscuits on a parchment lined sheet pan in the freezer while you preheat the oven to 450°F
Brush with an egg wash or more buttermilk
Bake at 450°F for 15 to 18 minutes, or until golden brown
